Recently, a sixteen year old daughter had to be put in a trafficking shelter after her mother (who admits guilt) commanded her daughter to go into prostitution to fund a Hajj trip for her grandparents.
The Pakistani family arrived in Dubai six months ago and not long after quickly fell into debt and was unable to clear the funds.
This goes hand in hand with other Muslim groups of the New Islam who make no link between clean and wholesome wealth and the things that the wealth will be used for, i.e. the Hajj in this case. The fact that some people who mouth Islam as their religion could even contemplate this brings the following question: How common is this among Pakistani expats in the UAE? This reminds me only slightly of a Prostitutes for God documentary I saw but this was regarding Hindus.
If someone does not learn what is required of them by Allah and that He, Glorified and Exalted be He, is Holy and will not accept anything but what is wholesome and righteous, how could be expect the “practicing” or “religious” person to do anything but extreme things and attribute it to faith?
If Islam is what you make it and how you declare, then nothing is off the table, including your daughter.
