A Word of Advice 2nd edition

Figure 1A: The 2nd edition is such a monumental improvement in my eyes.

A great thing happened recently. I was not sure if I would be able to complete this monumental task, but Allah helped me in a major way. The 2nd edition only has about three small mistakes (yes, I knit pick) and I am happy with the new layout, typesetting and also the appendices section.

I look forward to the new reader feedback. My goal is to work with our team and insert Arabic into all the previous editions and all new books will be bilingual. This will satisfy a lot of the Arab brothers and sisters that castigated me for not having it in the first editions. Thank you to the readers for all of our support and well wishes.

Until next time.

  1. salam – what’s it about shaykh? will it benefit layperson, western muslim? or is the book directed for students?

    • Great, you’ve made the first move. You want to be in a relationship with your Lord or you already are. But how do you maximise your time in His Glory in silence or in the bustle of the urban landscape?

A Word of Advice is a manual on just this, written by a giant in the field. Imam Muwaffaq ud-Din Ibn Qudamah takes the reader through an odyssey of verses from the Qur’an, statements of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, as well as practical examples to equip the reader with the right tools for enrichment of the soul.

    • Bt the way your podcast with Sidi Mahdi on this book was beyond words. I literally had to pause the recording on several occasions to take it in! Alhamdulillah.
